Do I need to pay for parking?

 

You will not need to pay for parking during your visit. We will provide a parking spot close to our lab for you to use. More information on parking during your visit can be found here.

How will I know if my child is eligible for a study?

 

under the studies tab, there is a list of all current studies. If your child falls into any of those categories, they may be eligible. If you have signed up for our lab, you will be contacted any time your child(ren) are eligible for any of our studies. If you have any questions about your child’s eligibility, email us at childcognitionlab@gmail.com.

Can I bring my other children to the lab while my child is participating in a study?

 

Of course! We love seeing all of your children in the lab. However, please do let us know if you plan on bringing other children into the lab so that we can ask another researcher to watch them while your child is participating in the study.

Can my child’s siblings stay with me while my child is participating?

 

For the most accurate data, we encourage you to allow your children to play in another area with one of our other researchers during the experiment. However, we will never push for parents to do anything that makes them uncomfortable during these visits. If you will only feel comfortable with all of your children in the same room, you are more than welcome to do so!

Can I let my friend take my child to their appointment if I am not available at that time?

 

Since we will need informed consent, we cannot allow children to participate unless they are accompanied by their legal guardian. If you become unavailable for your appointment, please contact us so that we can reschedule your visit.

​What should I do if my child is sick and they have an appointment coming up?

 

If your child is sick or for any other reason not expected to be ready to learn and play at the time of your visit, please reach out to us so that we can reschedule you for a time that will be better for you and your child.

 

 

Can I get a recording of my child’s appointment?

The recordings that we take during these visits become scientific data, so we are unable to share them with anyone outside of the lab. However, we are more than happy to take pictures of you and your child inside of the lab after the session has ended!
